Join us as we to pay homage to The Warhol-produced art rock legends, The Velvet Underground. This extremely rare special event features timeless renditions of the bands classics performed by legendary Australian musician Robert Forster and his band. Forster, one of the founders of revered and highly influential Australian indie rock band The Go-Betweens, was profoundly influenced by the pioneering new sound of Velvet Underground growing up in Brisbane in the 60’s. The performance was commissioned by the Queensland Art Gallery for the opening of their exhibition “Andy Warhol” in December 2007 and it will only be performed at two venues in the US. Forster and his Velvet’s performance in Brisbane was one of the hottest tickets of the year, so don’t miss this one night opportunity in Pittsburgh!
A pre-show and post-show mod Motown dance party featuring Justin Hopper of Viper Soul Club will accompany the performance in the Museum’s entrance gallery.
