“The ultimate fan – and now family-friendly rock act.” – Billboard Magazine
Brooklyn’s legendary alternative rockers They Might Be Giants are, of course, also now recognized among the foremost creators of cool kids’ albums. The show will feature the band performing previous kids’ album hits, as well as music from the most recent album Here Comes Science.
Co-presented with the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and the New Hazlett Theater.
Where the art is the artist.
No need to worry about reading something on the wall next to a work of art. Eight pieces come to life as part of Off the Wall – a series of performances that runs from October 6, 2009 through April 10, 2010. Challenge yourself, along with your perception on what true art is with experiences ranging from shocking to inspirational, with laughter, passion, and a whole lot of thought thrown into the mix.
All Off the Wall performances, with the exception of They Might Be Giants, may contain adult subject matter and strong language.
Media sponsors: Pittsburgh City Paper and WDUQ 90.5 FM
Funding for Off The Wall 2009-10 is provided by the Robert C. Smith Fund and the Betsy R. Clark Fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation.
Foundation sponsor: Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation
The Off the Wall series is curated by Ben Harrison, associate curator for performance.
