London-based Italian artist
Ludovica Gioscia creates gorgeous and intricate wall sculptures meant to mimic the severed heads of monarchs from around the world. Her brightly hued works are hung against the backdrop of Andy Warhol's Self Portrait wallpaper, creating an intriguing juxtaposition between Warhol's disembodied torso and Gioscia's works which hover above them. This installation features sculptures made using wallpaper remnants; throughout his career, Warhol created six varieties of wallpaper.
