Join The Warhol for two films screened in glorious 35mm: Cruising (1980), 102 mins., and Can’t Stop the Music (1980), 124 mins.

Cruising, directed by William Friedkin, with Al Pacino, Paul Sorvino, Karen Allen, Richard Cox, Don Scardino, Joe Spinelli. Hypnotic, Nietzschean night-trip into an undercover cop’s broody hunt for a hot maniac. Notorious for depictions of NYC leather-males and rough trade, Cruising has a unique passive-aggressive metabolism that switches from superb punk-disco to chilly nothing.

Can’t Stop the Music, directed by Nancy Walker, with The Village People, Valerie Perine, Bruce Jenner, Steve Guttenberg. An embarrassing celebration of showbiz, audacity, and big hope, per the skill-set of the Village People, in this fairly untouchable camp-cherish produced by balls-to-walls Allan Carr (CC & Company, Grease), and which totally ended Nancy Walker’s directional career. See this!
