Museum Legs: Fatigue and Hope in the Face of Art
A Lecture and Book-signing by author Amy Whitacker
Museum Legs is an irreverent and engaging collection of essays connecting art museums to creativity, public life, and age-old questions of how to live. The book begins with a question: Why do so many otherwise curious people get bored and tired in art museums and why does that matter? As it turns out, the answer has less to do with art as we know it and more to do with politics, economics, and a hopeful sense of possibility in everyday life. Author Amy Whitaker has an MBA from Yale and an MFA in painting from the Salde. She has worked at the Guggenheim, MoMA, and the Tate.
