11am and 3pm – Gallery Talks with Artist EducatorsEach Thursday at 11am and 3pm we invite interested visitors to join in a gallery talk led by one of The Warhol's artist educators. Each talk will have a thematic focus around a series of works or a Warhol process. The subjects may include - but are not limited to - Warhol’s photographic silkscreen process, abstraction in Warhol’s work, appropriation, beauty and reality in commissioned portraits, the dark side of American consumerism, Warhol’s technology, and more. The 30 minute talk provides time for visitors to present their own perceptions and or questions about the works of art.
1pm – Gallery Talks with Film and Video CuratorsEvery Thursday at 1pm we invite interested visitors to join a gallery talk led by one of The Warhol Museum's Film and Video curators. Curator Geralyn Huxley will lead a tour through I Just Want to Watch: Andy Warhol’s Film, Video, and Television, the exhibition currently on view on the sixth floor, which focuses on the film and video work the artist created between 1963 and 1987. Assistant Curator Greg Pierce will examine the art of Warhol’s film portraiture in his talk and demonstration entitled Lights, Camera, Hold Still! Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests (1964 -66). The 30 minute talks provide time for visitors to present their own perceptions and or questions about the works of art.
All gallery talks will begin in the fifth floor galleries. Look for the 'Gallery Talks Begin Here' sign.
Please note: due to potential schedule conflicts, this tour schedule may be subject to change. Check with The Warhol's front desk for the latest gallery talk schedules.
