The Whole Boogie Woogie Party
Celebrating the opening of
Piet (Mondrian) in Pittsburgh

and

Transformer: The Work of Glenn Kaino

Saturday, May 3, 8 pm – Midnight
Tickets $69 per couple or $40 single
TicketWeb.com

It’s our biggest party of the year. In honor of Mondrian’s love of big band boogie woogie, Chicago’s Ross Bon and the Mighty Blue Kings will give a special reunion musical performance, complemented by thematic cocktails and tempting fare. Not to mention DJ Zombo and free dance-card portraits. This party is too big for just The Warhol, so we will be swinging over to the adjacent Alcoa Business Services building as well. One party you don’t want to miss.

For more information visit the Warhol Calendar.

The Whole Boogie Woogie party kicks off two new special exhibitions, Piet (Mondrian) in Pittsburgh and Glenn Kaino. A leader in abstract painting of the twentieth century, Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, was best known for his Neo-Plasticism (a Dutch movement founded and name by Mondrian) abstractions of rigid forms consisting of rectangular shapes of red, yellow, blue, or black, separated by thick, black, rectilinear lines. Los Angeles artist Glenn Kaino’s exhibition features seven of his large-scale installation pieces. These mixed-media, kinetic sculptures of familiar forms show reference to cultural history, mechanics, and physics.

10 pm performance by Ross Bon and the Mighty Blue Kings
