13 Most Beautiful Songs for Andy Warhol's Screen Test Performance- Screen Test, Billy Name, Photo by Rob Long
13 Most Beautiful…Songs for Andy Warhol's Screen Tests features a selection of Warhol's four-minute silent film portraits with newly commissioned soundtracks by Dean Wareham & Britta Phillips, performing as Dean and Britta. The project was jointly commissioned by The Andy Warhol Museum and The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust for the 2008 Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts and was developed by Ben Harrison, Curator of Performing Arts, with Geralyn Huxley, Curator of Film and Video, and Greg Pierce, Assistant Curator of Film and Video of The Andy Warhol Museum. Taking the form of a multi-media concert, the project began touring in January '09 at Lincoln Center in New York and has since toured throughout the country and internationally to almost fifty venues and continues to accept offers into 2014. The project also resulted in the first official release of early Warhol films on DVD, which was produced in collaboration with Plexifilm and launched in April '09.

Overall, however, watching the screen tests gives the same effect as listening to 13 Most Beautiful: it’s hard to imagine one without the other, a testament to how considered 13 Most Beautiful is. Perhaps more meaningful to fans of either Warhol or Wareham and Phillips, it is nonetheless to be respected as a true achievement.
