DESCRIPTION:We welcome poet Aja Monet\, on a tour with her band\, supporting a new album\, the color of rain\, on drink sum wtr records. As the youngest recipient of the Nuyorican Grand Slam Poetry title\, she began her career in New York City’s Lower East Side poetry clubs and bars\, following the long legacy and tradition of poets organizing in social movements for change. The new album\, co-produced by Monet\, Justin Brown and Meshell Ndegeocello\, follows her GRAMMY-nominated debut album\, when the poems do what they do (2024) and Pitchfork describes it as  “A unique kind of musical intimacy… Possesses a profound and forceful clarity.” \n\nDoors open at 7:30 p.m.\nThis performance is primarily standing room only.
