DESCRIPTION:We welcome back the contemporary jazz virtuoso guitarist Julian Lage for an intimate solo performance at the Carnegie Lecture Hall. On a tour supporting his latest two albums\, The Layers and View with a Room\, on Blue Note Records\, Lage has become\, according to the New Yorker\, of the “highest category of improvising musicians”. And according to a recent Guardian review Lage is “a masterful player\, alternating careful\, detailed lines with bursts of dexterous improvisation”. His latest album was produced by singer-songwriter\, Margaret Glaspy\, and other frequent collaborators include John Zorn\, Bill Frisell and Nels Cline. Songwriter Elijah Wolf opens the evening. \n\nDoors open at 7 p.m.
