DESCRIPTION:We’re proud to present Starshine!\, a unique theater experience developed by Jumping Jack Theater specifically for children (grades K-5) and families with sensory sensitivities. Take a sensory enriched journey through the galaxy. Cozy up in the magic of the sky as you gaze at constellations\, dance with asteroids\, hear the soothing sounds of space\, and even lend a helping hand so that every star can shine its brightest. Stars are unique just like you! Starshine! takes place outdoors and within Jumping Jack Theater’s new mobile storytelling trailer. Jumping Jack Theater will bring you a safe\, effortless and sensory-friendly production that will leave you feeling inspired and ready to soar! Seating is strictly limited to one group with a maximum of three people per performance\, and each group must include at least one caregiver. All Covid-19 health and safety protocols will be followed. The performers are fully vaccinated and masked for everyone’s safety.

SUMMARY:Sensory Friendly Silent Disco
DESCRIPTION:Put on your most comfortable party outfit and join us for a sensory-friendly evening of dancing\, socializing\, and artmaking. This event is planned specifically for and with individuals with autism spectrum disorders and those with sensory sensitivities. A live DJ will spin dance classics and take musical requests\, and our adjustable wireless headphones will allow participants to choose their own volume levels or opt out. There will be an enclosed sensory friendly area on the first floor where partygoers can decompress or connect in a calm manner. \nThe Factory underground studio will be open for silkscreen printing and other art projects. Guests can also submit their own designs that will be turned into silkscreens and acetate collages for the event. To submit\, email a high-resolution (300 dpi) jpeg image of your art to access@warhol.org by October 25\, 2019. \nThis event is open to teens and their families from 6–8 p.m. and is 21+ after 8 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:We are proud to present a sensory-friendly social gathering for Autism Awareness/Acceptance Month. Join us for a silent disco experience at the museum designed specifically for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and those with sensory sensitivities. DJ Naeem will spin a live set of dance classics and will accept musical requests. Rather than playing loud music through speakers\, wireless headphones will allow attendees to opt in or out of the soundtrack and control their own volume levels. The Warhol theater will be transformed into an enclosed sensory room for the evening and quiet areas will be provided. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable\, festive attire and to take portraits in the museum’s photo booth and do artmaking in the studio. Light refreshments will be served and a cash bar will be available. \nThis event is open to teens and their families from 6–8 p.m. and is 21+ after 8 p.m. \nPlease note that this event has been rescheduled from Saturday\, February 16\, 2019 to Saturday\, April 6\, 2019.

Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable\, festive attire and to take portraits in the museum’s photobooth. Light refreshments are provided\, and a cash bar is available. \nWe welcome teens and their families to join us from 6–8 p.m. for an all ages silent disco dance party and film screening.  Each registered teen receives a free adult ticket for a parent or supportive adult to attend with them. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend and are welcome to participate. A parent networking and waiting area is provided for families to relax and connect with other members of their community during the event. \nThis event is open to teens and their families from 6–8 p.m.\, and it is 18+ after 8 p.m. \nSchedule \n\n6–6:45 p.m.        All ages silent disco\n6:45–7:30 p.m.  Vectors of Autism screening in The Warhol theater\n7:45–8 p.m.        Transition time (all ages event ends)\n8–10 p.m.            18+ silent disco\n\nFree parking is available in The Warhol lot.

DESCRIPTION:Join The Andy Warhol Museum for a sensory-friendly program designed specifically for adults age 21 and over with autism spectrum disorders and those with sensory sensitivities. Explore Andy Warhol’s artwork through gallery discussions\, activities\, and art making. Each participant will have the opportunity to silkscreen print in the education studio and engage in lively and supportive discussions with museum staff. The museum will make accommodations during these events\, such as providing quiet areas throughout the museum. Come and meet our welcoming staff members who are ready to support the diversity of individuals. \nThere is a 20 person limit for the event\, and registration is required.
