DESCRIPTION:We welcome the Chicago-based Eli Winter Trio\, featuring Eli Winter on guitar\, Sam Wagster of Fruit Bats on pedal steel guitar and Tyler Damon of Circuit des Yeux on drums. The inventive trio exists at intersections of jazz\, folk and rock\, with recent performances at eclectic and adventurous music festivals such as Primavera Sound and Big Ears. Their collaborators include Yasmin Williams\, Caroline Rose and Ryley Walker and their latest record\, A Trick of the Light (Three Lobed Recordings)\, garnered the following praise from a Pitchfork review: “The cumulative effect is warm and multi-dimensional: the work of an artist who understands there’s as much virtuosity in listening as there is in playing.” Pittsburgh-based duo\, Clear Creek SP\, opens the evening. \n\nDoors open at 7 p.m.

Don’t miss out. \n\nDJ set by Second Skin (Erica Scary & Huck Finn)\nTarot readings by Three3Three and Pgh Astrology\nTake home your own spooky poems typed on a typewriter live by Sprouts of Consciousness\nFloral arrangements and decor by greenSinner\nPlease note: This event is for ages 21+.\n\nVIP tickets include two free drink tickets and an exclusive VIP-only hour from 7-8 p.m. \nIn his Death and Disaster series\, Warhol explored the impact of images taken out of a journalistic context and framed\, through repetition\, as works of art. Some of the photographs that Warhol chose as source images for this series depict horrific scenes. Others focus on a narrative that may not be obvious\, but is symbolic of death and disaster nonetheless\, such as the Electric Chair and Jackie series. In all of these works\, Warhol repeated images to mirror the repetition evident in society through media and technology.

DESCRIPTION:Join artist educators for Dandy Andy\, a monthly tour that focuses on Warhol’s queer history. While his sexuality is frequently suppressed or debated\, Warhol was a gay man who had several partners throughout his life. Warhol’s boyfriends\, including Edward Wallowitch\, John Giorno\, and Jed Johnson\, were also his colleagues and collaborators\, helping to shape and define his career as an artist. This tour traces Warhol’s romantic relationships and queer identity against the backdrop of the historical gay rights movement in the United States. Tours meet on the museum’s seventh floor.
