The inventive trio exists at intersections of jazz\, folk and rock\, with recent performances at eclectic and adventurous music festivals such as Primavera Sound and Big Ears. Their collaborators include Yasmin Williams\, Caroline Rose and Ryley Walker and their latest record\, A Trick of the Light (Three Lobed Recordings)\, garnered the following praise from a Pitchfork review: “The cumulative effect is warm and multi-dimensional: the work of an artist who understands there’s as much virtuosity in listening as there is in playing.” Pittsburgh-based duo\, Clear Creek SP\, opens the evening. \n\nDoors open at 7 p.m.

Since Get Away from Me (2004)\, McKay has released nine eclectic albums\, ranging from pop to jazz to rock & folk\, always defying categorization. Her music has been used on radio\, TV and in the movies\, and she has appeared on many shows\, from The Late Show with David Letterman to A Prairie Home Companion\, as well as writing and performing acclaimed bios of Barbara Graham\, Rachel Carson\, Billy Tipton and Joan Rivers. McKay is also a dedicated advocate for animal rights\, feminism\, civil rights and environmental protection. \n“A renegade songwriter with an ultraflexible Great American Songbook sensibility.
