Youth Arts Council

Youth Arts Council (YAC) is a leadership program that invites a small team of high school students from across the Pittsburgh area to go behind the scenes of The Andy Warhol Museum. Teens collaborate with museum staff and artists, learn about our local creative community, create artwork, and develop public programs and events for other youth. YAC participants receive stipends while gaining professional experience. YAC meetings take place Thursdays from 4–6 p.m. at The Warhol, and applicants should plan to attend the majority of sessions from September to May.

Youth Fashion Show

Join us for an evening of glamor, style and sustainability at our Youth Fashion Show. Runway looks feature repurposed, reimagined and recycled garments and accessories created by teens. Each year, the Youth Fashion Show highlights the work of students from around the city.

Teen DJ Academy with Tech25

Learn to build and blend your own DJ sets that will get everyone on the dance floor! Presented in partnership with Tech 25, the Teen DJ Academy is a workshop series taught by professional DJs with the goal of providing hands-on experience with real equipment and opportunities to perform at Youth Invasion, LGBTQ+ Prom and other teen events. This program is free and meets on Mondays from 4-6 p.m. DJ Students will earn a stipend for attending workshop sessions plus additional stipends per performance. Participants must be ages 13-18 and space is limited.

Youth Invasion

Teens take over The Warhol! Planned for teens by teens, Youth Invasion is an annual spring celebration that invites young artists, performers and designers to transform the entire museum with their creative energy. This event is planned by our Youth Arts Council and features a unique theme, custom decorations, teen gallery talks, artwork and teen performers!

LGBTQ+ Youth Prom

The Warhol hosts an annual LGBTQ+ Youth Prom, one of the only LGBTQ+ youth proms in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Prom is often considered a rite of passage and creates memories that last a lifetime. The Warhol’s Youth Prom offers a safe, inclusive space with food, dancing, and artmaking. Prom is open to all young people ages 13-18, and is planned by our Prom Planning Committee.

School of Drag

Join teaching artists and local performers in this free six-week program that transforms The Warhol’s underground Factory studio into a space where youth can learn about the history, culture, and practice of drag performance.

Student Assistant Program

Teens are not just an audience for The Warhol – they are an essential part of our staff. Student Assistants are paid employees of The Andy Warhol Museum’s Department of Learning and Public Engagement. They perform educational duties inside the museum as well as during outreach programs and events. As a Student Assistant you gain real world skills, engage with a creative community and learn about new artistic processes and approaches.
