William Stout will lead a dialogue in the Jeffrey Vallance exhibition sharing his perspectives on art, religious painting and classical history. Stout is the Docent Director of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Pittsburgh where he focuses on the history and preservation of cultural heritage and the Vanka murals. He has held the position of Registrar, at The Frick Collection, New York City and a Fellow in the Department of Decorative Arts at the John Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles. Mr. Stout has been published in The Magazine Antiques, lectured at Sotheby’s, NYC, and taught graduate and undergraduate courses at several New York City colleges. Born and raised in the Pittsburgh area (Millvale), he attended North Catholic High School and graduated in 1973 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a BA in International Relations and in Classical History. He became a Distinguished Alumni of IUP in 2002.
