Recurring Event Drag Story Hour

Drag Queen, Akasha L. Van-Cartier, stands posing in front of a wall and a dumpster covered in a variety of graffiti. Akasha is wearing a tan burlap dress with the words ’’100% Guaranteed’’ printed on it. The sleeves of the dress are made of different plastic and paper bags.

Drag Story Hour celebrates reading, creativity, and uniqueness through the art of drag. It captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives children glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, children are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where everyone can be their authentic selves! Families and children of all ages are welcome to join us for readings and songs by the glamorous Ms. Akasha L. Van-Cartier and her Friends. Registration is required.

An ASL Interpreter will be provided at Drag Story Hour. Please contact access@warhol.org with specific accommodation requests or questions.

Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
