Sound Series: Sunny War

We welcome back folk/blues/punk songwriter Sunny War (aka Sydney Lyndella Ward) to our intimate theater, on a tour supporting her latest album Armageddon in a Summer Dress on New West Records. Originally from Nashville, she released her debut album, Worthless, in 2014. On this new album, Sunny further refines her distinct aesthetic at the intersections of punk and roots music. As she puts it, “To me it’s the same kind of music. If you’re into punk for the lyrics and the message, there’s definitely a lot of old-time music that has that spirit.”
