Sharif Bey, Domestic: Queen, 2024, Courtesy of the New Orleans Museum of Art and Sharif Bey.
Join us for an artist talk with Pittsburgh-born ceramic sculptor Sharif Bey, reflecting on his exhibition Sharif Bey: Homecoming, on view June 26 – October 12, 2026. After more than twenty-five years, Bey returns to the city that shaped him. He’ll discuss what it means to come full circle as an artist, the inspiration behind his work, and community as a throughline in his practice — including the dialogue between ceramics and fine art, adornment and identity, and Pittsburgh’s creative ecosystem for the next generation.
