The Warhol strives to present a range of live music and contemporary performance devoted to challenging conventional perceptions of art and providing audiences with a diverse offering of unique and thought-provoking live performance experiences.
The Warhol: Sound Series
The Warhol began the Sound Series in 2004 as a consistent and ongoing concert series featuring a broad range of artists and bands that increasingly blur genres and sensibilities of contemporary independent music, with performances taking place in a variety of venues, ranging from The Warhol theater, which offers an intimate performance experience with warm acoustics and strong sound clarity, to the Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland.
Silver Studio Sessions
Silver Studio Sessions offer stripped-down sets from our Sound Series artists in a space inspired by Warhol's Factory. Watch some of our past Sound Series artists on YouTube.
Since 2009, The Warhol has been part of the Spalding Gray Award consortium, along with The Walker Arts Center in Minneapolis, Performance Space 122 in New York, and On the Boards in Seattle, to annually commission and present work by artists/writers/performers who are fearless innovators of theatrical form.
